Mouse

Well Idk if this is a first for this forum but I’ve got a %@#$& mouse getting in my ‘16 2ss. I never keep food in my car. He seems to like chewing up any paper products he can find in there. I’ve put mouse traps under my car (garaged) but the little $&#@% gets the cheese without setting them off. Any ideas where he might be getting in? I of course never leave the windows down. I haven’t seen any chewed up wires.... yet.

You might try baiting the traps with peanut butter instead of cheese. Harder to remove without tripping the trap. Definitely use traps and not poison because you don’t want them crawling into the car and dying in the air vents where the dash has to be disassembled.

The most common entrance is the cabin air vent. It’s in the engine compartment on the firewall in front of the A/C and glove compartment. There are a few threads from other frustrated owners. Some have even created wire mesh covers to keep the mice out.

I agree.

Regarding the use of peanut butter in lieu of cheese, make sure you don't place too much peanut butter on the trap. If you place a large mound of peanut butter on the trap, the mice are often able to consume a majority of the peanut butter without setting off the trap.

Here is the mouse nest and dead mouse in the cabin filter from my friends '16 SS. He went for a drive with the AC on and the smell made him gag. And yes, his fix was to install wire mesh.

This guy blew into the exhaust tip of my husband’s Trans Am when he started it. That car sits for weeks at a time so no surprise that they’d make a home in it. I was relieved thinking we were done with him but I guess he’s got friends. 😢☹️

Okay...haven't had this problem, but this is making me want to put a screen there anyway just to make sure this doesn't happen to my car!

I have had good luck with fresh strong smelling bars of soap placed near or under my car. I use irish spring bar soap.

I would get the glue traps and put peanut butter and cheese, maybe tape a couple together. He won't escape the glue

We've had to use the glue traps at work from time to time, they work pretty good.
