If I didn't have what I have now, a ZL1, because I like everything about it better than the C8. With what I have now, a C8, so I could sell it and use the money for something else.

I don't like the look of the praying mantis C8, and you can make anything fast or faster. For example: I started off with a ~400-RWHP Camaro SS, and I now have 1174-RWHP, and have only invested about $35,000 total. I say only because, compare it to the price of what a ZL1, a C8 Z51, or especially what a C8 Z06 will cost, and you save a lot, and still have an amazing looking/performing automobile.

I would easily go for the C8. Interior is leagues ahead, the ZL1 can only play out it's power advantage above 70 mph and cornering should also we way better (or at least easier) in the C8.

If you don't need the tiny rearseats of the ZL1, I don't see the point. The C8 even has more cargo space

Set aside the 10 year thing, I'd take the C8 because some people are selling their freshly delivered cars for a good deal more than they paid for them.

I'm not that excited about the mid engine Corvette, so the ZL1 would be my choice, especially if I had to daily drive it for 10 years.

Easily the C8. Looks like a ferrari, is faster to 60, handles far better and the dual clutch gearbox is fantastic.

I like the C8 too but the ZL1 1LE will out handle a C8.

I highly doubt it, it's a lighter, mid engined, better designed car. The corvette has always been a step up on us, and this one takes it even further. But there's no way you could prove it without putting them on the same circuit or doing lateral G tests. Unfortunately the c8 will only be tested in magazines against other cars in it's class, and even supercars.

Edit: Unless they purposefully put in understeer to prevent snap oversteer.

If we're limited to getting the automatic only on the ZL1, I might actually opt for the C8. But as a manual-only guy (I have never owned an automatic in 23 years of owning my own cars), if a manual was on the table ZL1 all day and twice on Sunday.

I saw an orange C8 on a divided highway going the other direction recently, wow did it stand out. I know half of that was because of the orange color, but that's too much attention for me.

I didn't get a ZL1 because it felt like a waste to use it as a DD and a waste to leave it parked, I wouldn't have gotten enough use to justify the cost.

I saw a red one for the first time this past weekend. Red with black rims. It was coming the other way and i thought holy shit a Ferrari! Man pics don't do that thing justice... it's just gorgeous.

I would still give the edge to the ZL1 1LE. It is a track car first, street car second.

The C8 kills it 0-60 of course, but I don't think so with lateral G's OR shock damping. Also the ZL1 1LE is mostly hard mounted in all its bushing attach points. The MRC is set up for the street on the standard C8, not the track.

Now, when the C8 Z06 comes, out, yeah, THEN it will be better on the track.

Mid engine counts for a lot, but let's just say hypothetically the ZL1 out handles it. I'm still going C8. Have you seen one in person yet? They are gorgeous. Not saying our cars aren't good looking but people are going to mistake them for Ferrari's. I already have from far a way.

Someone had a C8 at Sebring. He said great and amazing car, but he is hard core instructor and said, wait for Z06 for a great track car... for what it's worth
