Time for a drag strip, go ahead, take it down for fun one time, ooh, and definitely a road course or some autocross

Congats, I'm at 954 and had it since 8/29/12. I can't wait to reach that almighty 1500 just for that reason. I just don't have the time to take it out a lot to put miles on it.

Does the computer restrict vehicle performance below 1500?

How soon after 1500 mile break in should the first oil change be done? Also during my several test drives before I bought, The Dealership/sales manager didn't mind or discourage getting on the supercharger WOT / WFO. THERE OPINION and partially mine is if your not hot Rodden 100% of the break in time it doesn't really hurt the engine. What is all your thoughts?

That's a pretty loaded question JtutZL1. It would be best to search the forums about the long and quite heated debate over the break in period. There's two trains of thought and both present good evidence in favor, so in the end it's what you feel you should do. More importantly don't always believe what the dealer tells you, they're not experts in these cars.

Thanks NerdWerx : I got mine at 41 miles. (I'm pretty sure nobody ran at full open For very long). I got my (hot roding my lead foot out on the test drives on the other cars that they let me drive, This is not to say someone didn't do that to mine before I bought it) so I feel pretty safe with mine and I have 1700 miles on my engine right now. I am just trying to decide when to do the first oil change on the car , It says 78% left On this oil change. I was thinking 2000 2500 miles for the first oil change does anybody else Have any other thoughts? ? ?
I am pretty OCD and before I bought it I had them put it up ON ALIGNMENT RACK do a four wheel alignment and balance everything was out of Alignment and balance Off the factory line, so they had to balance and realign everything before I drove it off the lot just an FYI. P.S It handles like a dream right now.

From reading all the threads in this forum and others on this site over the last two years, it seems like 1000-1500 miles is a popular interval for the first oil change and then follow the DIC. It may not be necessary, but many members change it then. It's been beaten to death over and over in here and in the mechanical maintenance section.

Thanks DangerZL1 , I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to get the oil changed. They gave me a few when I bought. I'll be @ 1850 miles tomorrow. I do believe the most wear is during the break in And all the rings and bearings are seating in. thanks for your guys input

I did my oil change right after it hit 1500 miles. For sixty bucks, it makes the break-in period make more sense.
