Shop around. There are still reputable dealers out there not marking things up crazy and charging over sticker.

As far as ordering, ordered a 2SS 1LE in Feb 2021, arrived in Sept 2021. Wife ordered a 22 Blazer RS in Jan 2022, just arrived about 2 weeks ago. I then ordered a 2022 ZL1 in Feb 2022. Arrived 7 in 7 weeks. So who knows.

Everyones situation is different. The 2SS comes with a lot of the "goodies" but if your looking mostly into the V8 power, a LT1 Camaro is the way to go.
I couldn't agree more with you on ordering now and find a dealer that is not going to soak you with the 5k over sticker. I ordered my 2022 1SS Rapid Blue about mid December. Dealer said they couldn't submit the order until the first or second week of January due to GM not taking orders until then. I asked so what am I going to pay for it and my salesman said MSRP and I said fine and we shook on it. It was delivered to the dealership 3/17/2022 and before I went to pick it up my sales guy called and told me he had to sell the car for 5k over MSRP. I told him we'll talk when I get there, I then told him I've bought 3 vehicles from you guys in the last 4 years and this will be number 4 and you really don't want me to leave a negative google review do you? He went running back to the manager came back and told me it's yours for MSRP. So the moral of the story it make sure you trust your dealership and are maybe a repeat customer so you don't get screwed like a lot of others out there are.

But for it's time it was a great looking and great performing car. I had a '00 Z28 M6 and I loved that car. And back then it actually was the best bang for your buck available. I bought it new in July '00 and paid $21k ($3k off MSRP).

Love this idea. Use that sweet twin turbo V6 at Chevy, not BMW prices. If they wanted to improve livability over the Camaro, wouldn’t be a bad Buick Regal GNX shock release motor

I think the 1SS with no options is a better choice for the added content beyond the LT1. That’s debatable, of course.

I think the advice to find a decent local dealer and put down a deposit, or better yet draw up a firm purchase order at MSRP, is spot on. Have to get out and drive one of these then get moving, I think the money supply will dry up a bit and bring the prices/availability to more normal levels.

Motor Trend actually wishes that the V8 in the Camaro were in the CT4-V Blackwing...

If the Cadillac has a weak spot, its low-revving V-6 is a good candidate. We weren't taken with this engine back when it first appeared under the hood of the ATS-V, and the addition of 8 extra horsepower hasn't made it any better. That's not to say the CT4-V's powertrain is bad. The twin-turbo V-6 is punchy and delivers a broad torque curve, while the 10-speed auto is among GM's best performance automatics yet, with quick, decisive up- and downshifts, and bang-on tuning for hard driving. It's just so … incredibly uninspiring, with a dull, flat exhaust note and a relatively low 6,500-rpm redline. A naturally aspirated V-8—like the one currently available in the CT4's Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE platform mate—would do much to wake the CT4-V Blackwing up.

Then there is availability. I have no intention of paying 5k over sticker (or what MSRP was originally, especially on a car with 5-20k miles), are enough of the chips going to break loose to get these out the door to customers who order?

Are they shipping the 6.2 without the DFM/AFM now with the resulting lower MPGs? Local new car dealers are advertising that stock is coming back in and to just stop in and make your order so if they can get trucks I'd imagine they can get Camaros.

Right?
I think now is a good time to order, I’ve noticed that here in Texas more are showing up at dealerships, which could mean that production is catching up. I’d also recommend getting a manual so you can avoid any AFM issues.

The 5V BW has a 668hp LT4. The 4V BW has a 472hp LF4, a TT 3.6 V6.

Correct, I fat fingered the "4". The posting in here was in response to the TT V6 in the CT4. The LT4 is already in the Camaro.

You can still run across issues with afm. The manuals still carry the same lifters as the auto.

Funny that you and they should mention that since it was up against a 100k AWD BMW.

I think the 3.6TT would be preferable in another platform, let’s not forget that the CT4V running it beats the 150 pounds lighter Camaro SS 0-60 and ties it in 1/4 mile- with both using the same 10SP auto!

Hard to beat BMW when It comes to a high performance 6 cylinder.
