Wouldn't that decrease the effectiveness of the brakes?

sorry, I'm seriously not informed on the technologies available. Harder pads, less brake dust, less stopping power?

I'd like to know if there is something out there that performs as well with less brake dust though. Carbon pads?

Maybe something in here?

Yes.

However, on the street, if never tracked, or braking super hard repeatedly...few will ever notice. Which is why you hear ceramic pads advertised as "same as factory".

Robert...you'll want to look into a ceramic pad in general...but you'll get far more details responses from folks other than me!

Congrats on your car coming!

Hey the gunmetal grey wheels will hide the dust pretty well though.

Need to burnish them, the sound will stop.

Hawks makes a great ceramic for the 5th gen, I am sure they will make one for the 6th. They are less dust but don't track them.

No, they don't. Really. I'm waiting for a set of Hawk ceramics. I had them on my 2012 ZL1. The reduction is braking was neglible.

good to know - I thought the darker color would help but I have to defer.

Unless someday in an emergency braking incident you could have stopped 6-8" shorter with stock pads than ceramic. Then you might notice.

They'll help for a short, short, while. Problem with brake dust is it's metallic, and rusts, even as a powder. So the dust gets a red hue, against the cooler "blue" hue of the gray wheels, it shows up very obviously.

The biggest consumption of time and distance in stopping is recognition and reaction.

I said this in the racing thread and I'll add it here...I will buy your used OEM pads if under 1500 and just street use. Please PM me if you're interested.
