Muh thugga makes some good points IMO. I'm not brand loyal or a fan of any one car though so maybe I'm a little more objective? Anyway I think you're missing key point about the z MT. The 5th gen was roundly critisized for being so big and heavy. I think Chevy was shoving it in everyone's face. Watch what this big heavy parts bin car can do. I think its cool as shit. Would I ever buy one? Nope. Was it way overpriced? Yup. Was it failure? No way. I mean, look we're still talking about it. It was the American underdog success story. The Rocky Balboa of track cars.

yeah, that is what I love about the Z/28. Love the analogy of Rocky Balboa, body punching, round after round, until everybody has to notice...

Have you seen the commercial with the Sumo wrestler ice skating ? What car is that ?

My dad just bought a 2015 Z/28 and holy sh*t, that is an awesome car. I can't even explain how ridiculous it is. I love everything about that car and applaud GM for building it.

Awesome! I have always wanted to drive one or at least ride in one.

First impression was it looked badass. I love my 1LE but my dad's Z/28 is all black and it looks pretty sinister. Second was, obviously, the LS7 sounds amazing at idle. I can't believe a stock cam sounds that choppy. Next, the acceleration is awesome. When I drove a ZL1, the acceleration seemed less visceral. With the Z/28, it just felt like I was getting shoved in the back by the hand of God. I really like the ride of the Z/28. A lot of people complain about it but I really enjoy the way it feels. I daily my 1LE, so I guess I'm used to a stiff suspension but I have zero complaints about how the Z/28 rides, even over rough roads. Then, just knowing what I am sitting it just makes it all the more special.

The whole experience is awesome. The sound of the LS7 as it screams to 7k rpm and then crackles and pops as you shift just brings a smile to your face.

Ah yes, I know what you mean with the idle. I have only heard 1 Z/28 and that was at the local dealer a few months ago. Went for a part for my truck and couldn't believe they had a used one sitting outside...next thing I know I'm drooling over it and the salesman asked if I wanted to start it up. YES!! Amazing factory idle. It'd be great if the new Z/28 did the same thing. I wonder if headers or aftermarket exhaust will enhance the lope?

The 427 LS7 has a mean idle at cold start. I love it. No other stock camaro has such a mean idle at cold start. Unfortunately, as it warms up, it tones down..., but, even then, it is still the best sounding stock camaro at idle. I have a built 396 in my '70 SS396 Chevelle that is a stout motor, but, the way the LS7 pulls from 6K to 7K rpm is very impressive. I do not think we will see another stock NA motor like it -- that much torque down low and that much hp at 7K rpm. It is truely a rare care... I live in LA, where Teslas, Porsches, BMWs, etc.. are all over the place, nobody even turns their heads...but, people see my black Z/28, and remark how they have never seen one and how sinister it looks..., how low it is, how huge the brakes are, how huge the splitter is, etc... I also have a manual BMW M3, the Z/28 kills it in all categories, especially the fun factor. Note: The Z/28 suspension is way better than the M3.
