Pirelli Slick ? I know it is a duplicate
I know this has been covered can't find the thread, found one on the Hoosier slicks. I want to get Pirelli slicks for track days. Please let me know what has worked. Front and rear.
Here is what I am planning to get: Front-305-690-19 Rear-315-705-19 or 325-705-19 Thanks David Chesrown |

I believe 705 will be too tall for the car. If I am remembering correctly, a local guy (and on the forums) tried a 705 and it was rubbing. I have a 690 and it is already a pretty tall tire, aprx .4" taller than the stock 325/30.
A 295/680 and a 305/690 gives the closest diameters to the stock tires. They are a little skinnier than stock (If used on the stock wheels they are stretched and the rims poke out) but will still provide a lot more grip. The ideal set up as I see it is the above-mentioned tires on a set of wheels that are 10.5/11. I may get a set of BC Forged wheels specifically to use with the DH slicks.

705 works fine in the rear at least. Biggest issue is supply, these are Ferrari Challenge take-offs. Last year Ferrari Challenge ran a 305 rear, now they run a 315 rear... they’re the only series generating 19” take-offs.
If you plan to pay $700+ per tire for new PZero’s, disregard above. |

I have 305's and 315's sitting in my garage unmounted. As soon as my BC Forged wheels come in I am having the Slicks mounted on the Stock Wheels. I will report back on the fitment of the 315's on the rears. Best case I know this answer by this weekend.

As I said, the 305/315 combo works just fine. Zero rubbing.... you’ll be happy! Also, given your username... guessing you’d appreciate my track prepped 964 also pictured!

Looks like MID O. Where are you getting your tires from?

I get Pirelli scrubs here.... http://gttrackdays.com Todd Z. Can get them for you. As Provoste posted, the Ferrari boys have moved to 315's in their series, as a result 305's are going to be tough to come by in the future. The Pirellis are great track tires. Good luck!

Bummer on the fact we may no longer be able to get 305's "on the cheap" down the road. Chad |

Your setup is outstanding... Would you mind sending a PM (or post here) on exactly what you have there for wheels, front and rear tires. (I'd honestly love to duplicate exactly what you have). THANKS!

Ha, I laughed out loud when I read this- Thanks! The ZL1 1LE is my dad's, I have an SS 1LE and I share the 964 with my brother. Its really cool to share the track hobby with my Dad and brother.
Mid Ohio indeed. Ohio Valey PCA weekend in early June. I get mine from JB Racing Tire for both my SS 1LE and the ZL1 1LE. They are out of 305 fronts currently, just FYI. I had stockpiled 305's last year, so I had two sets of fronts to start this year for the ZL1. 315's seem to be readily available. I run 18's on my SS 1LE, 285/645 DH's. Quote:
Thanks, wheels are BC Forged RZ05's in OE ZL1 1LE offsets. We won't use center caps, so I had them take out addional material around the centers for a tad less weight. Tires are P Zero DH slicks, 305/690 fronts, 315/705 rears. Wheel tire assemply's weight: 49.2lbs per front, 46 lbs per rear. Yeah, rear wheels are lighter due to the crazy front offsets. If I remember correctly, the OE Goodyears on OE wheels were 54lbs per front, 53lbs per rear. A substantial weight savings. Last edited by Provoste; 06-19-2018 at 01:31 PM. |

That's good to know those fit, my 295/305's are a bit skinny on 1LE wheels. Also, those BC Forged wheels look good, perhaps I need another set now.
