LT1 Whipple Rattle

So, my whipple has developed a rattle. You can skip to 2:15 to get a good listen to it. Normal or no?

Sounds a bit louder than mine, but I think all Whipples have that “rattle” sound at or near idle RPM.

the crunching sound is normal for their twin screw design mine has it to, it goes down after a decent amount of miles on the S/C.

Whipple's tend to have a rattling sound but I am not sure yours is normal. They are normally a bit noisy when new, but quiet down some with break in. So being your noise has developed over time, I wouldn't call that normal. I would pull the supercharger belt, spin the pulley's by hand and check to see if they turn freely. I have seen a pulley amplify the noise you are hearing.

I’m past the decent amount of miles part! It has 13000 miles on it.

I got the belt off of it today. It does spin freely but the pulley has play in it similar to a worn wheel bearing. Ill upload a video shortly.

Mine has about 1000 miles on it and sounds nothing like that. I am not a machinist but that doesn't sound/look right.

Finally heard back from Whipple today. They want me to fill out RMA form and mail back and send the blower in. I pulled the lid as well and it looks like I’m going to be purchasing a catch can. There was also what looked to be metal sludge build up as well! So much fun!!!
