Cool Texas speed vvt3 cam and heads

Hey guys! I have a 2018 Camaro ss and I am planning on installing a Texas speed vvt-3 cam (entire kit) and stall torque converter. Would it be necessary to upgrade the heads as well? Or would it just be ideal for more power gains? Thanks in advance!

Might as well have them ported since you have to take them off to do the cam

I would. Have TSP port the castings. Good bump in power from head porting.

One last question, ( this may seem dumb) But would I need to break in the cam after installation? Or get it tuned right away and then begin the break in period?
Thanks again!

it’s a roller camshaft, all you need to do is heat cycle the springs before you rape on it. i’d get a tune asap after install and limit driving it.

Just installed my tsp vvt3 cam on my M6. Drive ability is for the most part the same. Below 1500 rpms it might want Jump back and forth alittle because the cam and then sometimes i can cruise at 1k fine. Only think is on my start up it surges alittle bit, revs up and down for about 20 seconds or so. And then idles fine.
