V6 1LE 19x10.5 square

So decided to run a slightly aggressive square setup that is affordable for track days. Just like the 1LE itself (bang for buck) - can rotate for longevity & $660 for an entire set of tires (even though they are not the fastest) is hard to beat.

Based on standard FE3 setups on SS Camaros with no mag ride susp I decided to run the following:

19x10.5 (Apex SM10) w/ federal RS-Pro 275/35R19 using a 5mm spacer up front & et style gorilla lugs. Now the outside measure of the wheel is 11" which is nearly identical to the federal 275, so while only being a 275 it should mount very well keeping the sidewall with little to no stretch or pinch.

Here is front fit with the wheel only, then with a 5mm spacer
(NOTE: this is with a -2.3° front camber)

Decided I would take a little material off to ensure if there is flex that nothing makes contact

And how it looks from the outside:

Using et style gorilla lug nuts - with the spacer handtight I get a full 9 turns, so plenty of thread engagement. Once I get them mounted, balanced & installed more pics will come

suggestion

I basically run the same setup but I would suggest NOT running the 5MM spacer up front. If you grind the strut body in the manner you suggest you wont need the spacer and you wont have any top tire poke on the front tire. I use 305 30 19 with SM10 19 x 10.5 on all four corners on my SS without MAG ride, With 1.5 negative camber thats enough to pull the top of the tire in enough You can see pics on last page of APEX picture thread (black 2019 SS).

I run 305/30-19 on a 10.5" et 22 wheel for autox. -2.5 degrees of camber on the front and -2 degrees on the rear. There's an ever so slight amount of poke on the front, and a decent amount on the rear. I've never had any sort of rubbing issues.

Thanks for the suggestion my thought with the 5mm spacer I keep the track width closer to even between the front and rear + I might go more aggressive with camber in future based on autox or track.

You have an FE2 susp correct and are you running 5mm spacers as well? how do you like the square setup?

Yep, FE2. I'll likely replace it with the FE3 eventually, but they are physically the same, just different stiffness.

No spacers. I'm a big believer in a square wheel/tire setup. If for nothing else, the ability to rotate. I also don't see much need to have a wider rear tire on the V6/2.0T, the V8 guys might benefit from it, but we don't. I got in a couple of events in early March and the car was amazing, could pretty much do whatever I wanted with it. Haven't had the opportunity to try out the camber plates and alignment yet, but hopefully the events scheduled for July will happen.

Pretty happy with how it looks - tires are about perfect (not stretched or pinched) just have to break it in and see how it feels going from factory run flats to 200 treadwear 19"

Weight came in at 56lbs exactly per corner

Except...Apex didn't have a 10" SM-10 until recently.

Is that Apex SM10 the one with 22mm offset that they show on their web page?

Awesome! I've been eyeing something similar for the same reasons. Definitely interested to hear how it all goes once you get some miles on it. I don't think I'd want the tire poking past the fender personally, so that's been my main hold-up. It seems most direct-fit wheels are 10" wide minimum.

It must be. Only Camaro compatible 10.5" is et22.

That seems like less offset than you'd want. A 10.5" wheel with 22mm offset will stick out over 1/2" more than the stock 1LE wheel at 11" et43. With a narrower tire, such as Lt Berserker's 275s, I guess it still doesn't poke, though.
