Hoosier R7

Anyone running Hoosier R7's on the rear as an alternative to Drag Radials? They offer a 305/30/20 Dot tire.

It would be a terrible choice. Extremely stiff sidewalks and they do not perform (for their designed road racing purpose) unless thoroughly heated up.

For your future power levels you about to hit, only one tire will satisfy if you sticking with your 20" wheel. The MT ET Streets. They gonna hook on the hit, but as you can tell, get a bit squirly on you above 100 mph on the streets. On a prepped track, you'll be fine. You gonna have to sacrifice something. You could go R888R, but you'll spin unless you do 60 rolls. For now, your tires are holding. Once you go Whip, I'd give the R888R a shot and if they don't hold, u gonna have to go DR.

No 20" is going to handle high HP very well but the best would be ET Streets and if you don't want high end instability or like to hit the corners, R888R will hook just as well.

I think this is the most likely thing I will end up with (R888R).. Just interested if anyone has ran R7's on these cars as I couldn't find much using search.

I have R7's on a set of track wheels. They are ice until you get a lap or two in them. I.e. they would be a death wish if you tried to use them for anything but a race tire.

R888R's hold around 800 hp range? Cus that's where he's headed. And agreed, can't stand the instability of the ET Streets at higher speeds on the streets. You have to do your hit to 140, hopefully you've gapped someone so you can back off. If i'm behind, I'm just giving up. Not going to stay in it.

I don't know how some of these 1500 hp guys handle the streets. Matt was saying something about a TC management system that I can run once I hit those levels where I can leave nannies on and not have to worry about it. It's not like the car is going to go completely sidesways on me now, but it dances for sure.

Dude, I could feel it swaying from the passenger seat on the mild pull you did yesterday.. I cant imagine what it must be like at 140mph

I'll most likely be going R888R

Yea, i think that is just the sensation we are feeling, not really sure the rear is dancing like how we are feeling but yea, at 140, it's real dicey. On the streets. On a prepped track, I'd feel comfy staying in it the whole time.

You're the one who mentioned drag radials.

Not only two TOTALLY different suspension needs but the tire needs will need to sacrifice one way or another.

You seem to be confused.
