acs t4 front splitter??

looking at the acs t4 splitter seeing that the stock 1le splitter is too much $$$ anyone on here happy with that setup?? and is it plastic or fiberglass??

I have the T4 splitter. It's fiberglass and install was very simple. I've had it for 3 years now and I'm happy with it.

Fiberglass, and it will shatter (T4) with a good scrape on the concrete. The GM splitter is a lot more forgiving when it comes to steep driveways... take my word for it.

I've scraped mine many times and have not had any problems but I do watch for speed bumps and steep inclines.

Just ordered one. . . I believe it is plastic.

I HAD a T4 splitter on for about 5 months until it flew off my car on the highway. So my advice use actual bolts and not the plastic push pins that come with the front splitter to attach it to your bumper. Two the T4 splitter is not designed for high speeds, just saying. Three it will affect your approach angle on steep driveways. When it was on I did get a lot of compliments. Plus it is made of fiberglass not plastic.

I disagree. Fiberglass is repairable while plastic is not. Fiberglass doesn't really shatter too. It cracks and bends.

ACS has always offered a "track pack" for the splitter which includes bolts nuts and washer. Just because you went cheap and got the standard plastic doesn't mean you can say it was not designed for high speeds. I've gone above 150 with mine.

Okay... but this happened to my T4 on a moderate slope. Coming out of a gas station of all places. the 'scrape' didn't even feel that bad... felt similar lots of times before. Later that day I noticed this.

I'm thinking the difference in damage is attribute to the equipment you have holding it on. The standard plastic equipment has less holes than the "track equipment" so the damage is more widespread. I'll upload a pic of the underside of mine. I've had a tire piece hit mine at 60 mph and it stayed together

Okay, I'm not going to get a good picture of the current underside... Its dark and the car is too low for the camera to get a good pic.

Here is the damage from the tire.



Here is repair with 30 dollars of supplies. The fibercloth itself cost 5 bucks, but i didnt have resin, hardener, sandpaper blah blah.



After it was painted by a pro shop and it looks brand new again. Plastic would be gnarled and would have to be completely replaced. Especially with scraping, unless you dont care about having the bottom end all mangled up

I have this splitter as well. It's not made of fiberglass, but it's not plastic either. It's some sort of other composite material. For something that is so close to the ground and can possibly be hit by road debris, its very fragile. The lip on the leading edge really should be a lot thicker.
