Yes, when talking about the full performance potential of these cars. Drag racing only shows one aspect, not all aspects like racing on a road course does. Do you really want to argue that fact?

Here's a comparison that R&T did with the GTR, ZR1 and 911 Turbo. The GTR was .8 slower around the track then the ZR1.

In 2008, the tested it against the Z06 and 911 and it was over 5 seconds faster than the Z06.

Each car has it's advantages in the performance spectrum, the Z06 is a faster car, yes, but the GTR makes up for it in the corners (around the track).

No doubt, the Corvette's credentials are impressive: Producing 505 naturally aspirated bhp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque from its 7.0-liter V-8, the svelte Chevy packed the strongest punch of the group, while being the lightest on its feet, tipping the scales at a lean 3350 lb. It kept pace with the others to 60 mph, and then managed to set the fastest trap speed at the quarter-mile mark (123.7 mph), besting the 911 Turbo by 2.5 mph and the GT-R by 7.2.mph This just goes to show that although the Corvette couldn't get off the line as quickly as its awd competitors, once it got going, nothing here could touch it.

Road racing does not show all aspects of a cars performance. Most tracks favor small and nimble rather than high horsepower. So a civic could outperform a Z06, GTR etc on a particular track.

GT-R does nothing for me. It may have incredible performance but, IMHO, it has no soul.

I have seen about 20 of them on the road since they have been out. I saw one today on the way home from vegas. I think they look sweet.

Meh. I've seen a couple, wasn't that impressed with the look. And IMO, that level of performance could be achieved in a cheaper, better looking fashion elsewhere. Just MO tho
