R8's get raped by everything... and I do mean everything. Heard it is a great handling car but for 100k + for "handling"

WOW.
.......That's power. Must be the 4WD. The Z06 is significantly lighter though, isn't it? And comes with 505 hp? That shocks me.

The AWD helps that car a lot. Look at the Top Gear test track times.
The GT-R was a beast. Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. The GTR definitely has the off the line advantage, but would imagine a Z06 would leave the GTR far behind after 100mph once it hooks up.

The AWD does help a lot. So does the under-rating of the engine. Various reports have the dynoed power all over the map. Being hand-built, and turbocharged...there's a healthy amount of power variation, leading to some cars with more than advertised.

That's what I was referring to when I said it's debatable. Porche racers could not duplicate the gtr's times around the ring...the times they recorded were slower than the Z06s.

Real racing ? It would really depend on the track if we're talking "real" racing.

Here's a comparison that R&T did with the GTR, ZR1 and 911 Turbo. The GTR was .8 slower around the track then the ZR1. http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/co.../culture-clash In 2008, the tested it against the Z06 and 911 and it was over 5 seconds faster than the Z06. http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/co...sche-911-turbo |
