Switch to coilovers
Good morning Good people. Has anyone traded the dssv for say kw3? I love the car and I knew what I was getting but my wife hates riding in it. Just looking for some adjustment in dampening.

Let me get this straight. You have a regular ZL1 and your wife thinks the ride is too harsh?
If thats the case you bought the wrong car all together. The ride is great especially for a performance car. Now if you have the ZLE, then I guess I can understand. |

Looks like it’s time for a new wife lmao. Jokes aside I don’t think you’ll get better ride quality than the oem.

To the OP, you're better off trading into a standard ZL1. |

And yes, he would be better off trading in the ZLE for a ZL1. |

I had KW V3 on my Evo X and they were nice, but despite adjustability they are not on par with DSSV. Neither were the higher quality Ohlins R/T single adjustable I switched to later IMO.
If I upgraded DSSV on my ZLE, it would have to be for something like 3-4 way adjustable Ohlins or JRZs. But before I do that, I'll trade in the ZLE and for a GT3/RS or similar. |

If you bought the ZLE mainly for it looks, but the wife is complaining about the suspension. It would probably be cheaper to trade for a regular ZL1, then add the high wing, front splitter and winglets to get the ZLE look, then to buy coilovers and do a suspension swap. Coilovers are way more money than the aero parts to make a ZL1 look like a ZLE.
And there are quite a few folks who have added the aero parts.

to answer your question directly, quality adjustable coil overs should improve your ride quality.

This would be the only setup I’d run if I make the swap
