Pulling fuse 51

If you pull fuse 51 does that open all 4 “flaps” or just the rear two?
Thanks
Richie

There is just 2 valves, and when open the exhaust vents through the outside two tail pipes. So pulling the fuse leaves valves open .... pic below of NPP, credit to User GMGP5X from another thread

There is also another valve about midway in the exhaust which is more for flow control, it locks all of them open.

I am guessing they lock open as fail safe if said fuse blows? Now with no power on the unit does it lock tight? Is the spring pressure to hold open or closed? Is there a spring in the system or just all electric unit?

I believe the upstream set of valves are only on auto tranny cars and its part of the cylinder deactivation mode when at cruising speeds. As far as I know fuse 51 only controls the two exhaust valve actuators. Pulling the fuse will not throw any codes.

I have pulled the fuse and after driving it a while like that I put it back in. Others will argue otherwise but I did not like the drone at cruising speeds with the valves open all the time. Instead I have locked the exhaust to "track" mode in the main menu which allows the valves to close when cruising but be open anytime I am in the throttle.

OP - go try it. You have nothing to lose. Only until you try it will you know if it's what you want.

I pulled my fuse 51 a couple weeks after I bought the car and there hasn't been any codes. The exhaust sounds about perfect now and makes the car much more enjoyable to drive imo. NO plans of putting the fuse back in. With the fuse in the car was just too quiet. Drone has not been an issue imo
