Removing front bumper cover?

I searched and I asked a couple of guys with Z/28s, but I cannot find the answer:

If you remove the front bumper cover, do you have to break the seals on the front fender flares? (I am thinking yes.) In other words, a pita and not as simple as, say a ZL1. I know the splitter is a problem in of itself, however resealing the fender flares would make this a complicated job.

When you say, break the seal. You can take the front bumper cover off without taking the flares off(as pictured in 2SSRS@gen5diy post) There’s a few clips that are designed to break away and you will need to redo the double sided tape on the part that attaches to the front bumper but the rest of the flare remains attached to the fender. There’s a few posts/threads on the forum that address this.

As far as the splitter, it’s easy but a lot of bolts to undo and a few behind the front bumper cover that can be gotten to without removing the flares or the bumper.

A few pics if it helps.
You can see how the fender flare is designed to pull away and it’s this way on both the front and rear bumper cover area. The second pic shows the clips; you’ll need to push up on where the 1 arrows are and slightly pull the flare outward, then the #2 is designed to pull upwards.

No need to brake the clips, you need to pull the fender flare off as a whole, thats what we do its more work, but it can be done.

The clips don’t need to be broken, they are designed to unclip/clip back up. Just need to get the double sided tape on the bumper cover removed/reinstalled. That way the entire flare doesn’t need to be removed from the fender(which from my experience is much more difficult). Both the front and rear flares are designed this way as to remove the bumper covers.

If you have some secrets, please share. I will share any and all of my experience as I can to make work easier, especially these fender flares. They are pos.

Thanks

If you look at the pic i posted all we did was pull back the flare from the bumper and leav it on the fender.

I see that now. I was thinking you were talking about removing the entire flare. I apologize.
