Windshield Issue

Morning Everyone,

I was hesitant to post this, put at this point I have no idea what to do to get this glass, smudge free.

As you can see by the pics, there is a film of smudge on the windshield. I have tried everything to get this off. Multiple types Glass Cleaner, Soap&Water, 0000 Steel Wool, Vinegar&Alcohol, Razor Blade. At first I thought it was the microfiber rags were contaminanted, so I used brand new ones, then paper towels, then newspaper. Nothing seems to touch it. I have even had my "clean freak" wife take a crack it. When I run my finger across, both on the inside and outside, nothing happens to the smudges.
I am aware of the out-gasing from the interior plastics, but I have always been able to remove that. I thought the glass in my Corvette was a Pain in the Axx, but this is crazy.

At this point, I am beginning to believe it is defective glass, but that seems far fetched. Before I take it to the dealership, I wanted to ask, if anyone else have experienced this and/or have a fix. Thanks in advance.

0000 steel wool?!

Take it to a professional detailer. If you scratched it, then they'll need to polish it. If they don't need to polish, they'll know how to get it clean. Experience matters.

You already tried polish right, something finer than rubbing compound like scratch remover?

If that doesn't do it you have a defective windshield, that's very weird.

Update

I took Mequiars's Scratch remover 2.0 and whatever it was on the windshield...…..it took it off! I got about 90 percent of it off "all on the inside" by hand. Worked on it for about 2 hours.
Compounded the outside with my DA and subsequently sealed it with Adams Windshield Sealant. Thanks for the assist guys!

Looks like you need to use a solvent of some kind. Amazon also has a good glass polishing system. if it doesn't come off then it could be an issue in the glass itself. I know I couldn't live with that.

Clay bar the windshield with lots of lube. The clay will remove all the grime. Also, coat it with Rainex or glass wax afterwards.

Clean your wipers - glass cleaner does a good job.
Discard the wiper fluid in the tank.

Wow. That was some serious out gassing of the dash, or whatever it was. Glad it came off.

I second the clay bar, just dont use it on paint once used on glass to ensure any containments the bar picks up wont scratch the paint. This also works very well for hard water spots on glass.

On my latest ZL1, the suction cup marks from the factory are still visible, in the corner of the windshield glass. I have tried several things, yet they still are there if I look close enough. So I dont look anymore.

So that is what that was! I had one in the upper right corner. I used the Mequiar's scratch remover and it took that off as well.
