Not really, I just like hearing other people's cars. I usually see cars static all the time at car shows, and there are no race tracks near me. The only time I get to hear people open there cars up is if you make them think you want to race, when all I want is to hear them drop the hammer. Its nice when I get to hear Vette's, Mclarens, and Porsches at WOT. I had an 86 Trans Am 10 years ago, I would have loved an LS9 in it at the time.

I had a very loud 6 cyl 14-15 antagonizing me yesterday. At about 30 he slowed down to meet my (speed limit was 55 3 lane road and we were merging onto the road) speed next to me. He punched it. I was in second and opened it up. I was surprised to see him equal to me until I hit over 4000 + RPM. He was a auto and tached up. I should have dropped it into 1 then it would have been over. I was surprised.

Same. I was poking at a Hellcat on the interstate the other day. I thought my car was in reverse when he let loose.

Maybe he was supercharged?

I feel the best about driving my car when I am just doing my thing and enjoying the corners and bursts of acceleration alone.

It is however very easy to get caught up in the street racing mentality though if you have any competitive juices in you (which, let's be honest, most of us do), when someone tries to keep pace or pass you and is obvious about it. It is hard sometimes to not play along. If things get too crazy though, I will back off because I have my mine set to "what if" something happens.

The struggles of owning such a high performance car are real.

Exactly, I've been antagonized so many times that I have lost count (minivans, Dodge Omni's, Nissan Sentra's, etc.). They come up beside me, rev the engine, act like a complete tool, then I laugh.

Take it home.

I tend to be astutely aware of the cars on the road around me. But I completely agree with TRZ06. I enjoy the turns more than anything else but, I'm not shy about hitting the throttle. However, I'll only do it if there's a huge clearing or it's obvious that the only person who could get hurt is myself. Playing with other drivers on the road on chance encounters is one of the best sensations ever.

Also, OP, no shame in what went down. No one is the fastest on the road and as long as no one was hurt, you get to live another day and enjoy yourself.
