Actually I saw on FB a 2017 LT highly modified and noticed it had a double din radio where the main screen is usually at. I'll see if i can find it

If you can carplay/android auto to the head unit, I'm really struggling to see why you'd want to change it?

I am with you. I have replaced everything downstream of the head unit, but kept it the head unit itself

Wouldn't the big advantage be in getting a new head unit that could output a digital signal to a DSP unit? That should give better sound quality than taking the speaker-level outputs from the stock radio control unit. I don't think there's an option for pulling the digital stream from the stock unit, correct?

Yes, true. The integration units, such as PAC and Nav TV allow a digital signal to output to DSP, plus you still retain all the chimes, bells, and Onstar.

Exactly this. I have the GM unit and an Audison Bit One ready to take the signal.

The stock systems in these cars suck and distort very easily. Aftermarket head units will give you way more control, and a lot cleaner signal to your your amps vs adding devices to convert the crappy stock radio signal over to something stable the amps can use. The down fall is they are expensive and installing them will take some know how. 95% of users this above what they need or want. Think of it of having a audio control lc7i in your head unit and you can control it right from the drivers seat without the need of installing separate remote controls or having to make adjustments of a processor in the trunk.

I found some alternatives here:
https://m.de.aliexpress.com/item/400...bilesitedetail
https://m.de.aliexpress.com/item/400...0Q90.jpg_.webp
https://m.de.aliexpress.com/item/400...0Q90.jpg_.webp

I guess it's always the same part from different sellers.

Who wants to be the first to find out if it works...

I wouldn’t trust that crap as far as I could throw it. The one site says 2014-2020 but GM completely changed the architecture software and hardware for 2019.

Agreed.

Those AliExpress links don't help either lmao

But for you guys that know more, I got the original site of those without the AliExpress stuff.

Thank you for the link.
I'm pretty statisfied with the factory system and don't want to try out this cheap stuff.

But if there is someone who absolutely wants to replace the factory system have fun and good luck.
