8L90 tune, tuning.
Hope you spend a nice time with your Camaro
My next project is: transmission tune, for: 8speed - 2018 V8 camaro. I will buy a new TCM for the car and the new HP tuner as well. Just thinking to change the : port throttle shifting. Up shifting: 1 to 2 , 2 to 3 , 3 to 4 , .... 7 to 8. And Down shifting: 8 to 7 , 7 to 6 , ....... 2 to 1. The question is : what the meaning off different patterns in the transmission tune file? Part throttle shifting made such a great improvement in general all-around driving. Very underrated change. Camaro6 member Steelheadrob made a nice YouTube video on his journal thread about tuning the TCM, you should check it out.
I believe Normal is Tour mode, Pattern A is Sport, Pattern B is Track, etc.

I race in sport mode. In all my datalogs, thats pattern B. Normal is touring/snow. Pattern A I have not came across yet. Maybe pattern A is "performance shift" mode that's activated when you nail it from a roll.
What I did, since the wife likes the stock settings...I left normal mode stock. Then made pattern A,B and Hot the same with increased MPH & RPM shift points.

I do have a problem friends. 2018 A8 SS
I did buy a new unlocked TCM from HP tuners , and i did replace the old original TCM by the new unlocked TCM. I did the replacement properly, step , step. Now i have Check engine light ON. Hear are the codes/DTC’s: - Ox 7E8: P0700- Transmission Control System (MIL Request) (Pending, Current) - Ox 7E8: U0073-Control Module Communication Bus A Off (Pemanent) - Ox 7E8: U0101 - Lost Communication with TCM (Pemanent) - Ox 7EA: P27A7 (Pending. Current, Pemanent) - Ox 7EA: P27A8 (Pending. Current, Pemanent) - Ox 7EA: P27AB (Pending. Current) - Ox 7EA: P27A9 (Pending, Curent, Pemanent) - Ox 7EA: P27AA (Pending. Current, Pemanent) - Ox 7EA: P27AC (Pending. Current) - Ox 7EA: P27AD (Pending, Curent) I tried many time to delete them and remove battery cable, but they come back. Ops: i did read, edit and write to the car and everything went good with the new tune. The car drive almost normally. Just Check engine light ON. Need your help. |

Question please: The people how’s sent the original TCM to get it unlocked and then received it again back, Did they have check engine light? Or this problem happens just for they do replacement the old one by all new TCM ? |

It's what happens when you replace it. If you unlock the original then no issues.

Can i go back to the original TCM? I mean; i send the original TCM to HP and get it back unlocked and then Do replacement by installing the original unlocked TCM instead for the ( HP TCM ). Last edited by f.d; 05-02-2020 at 03:04 PM. |
