Front tires rapid inside wear - alignment specs inside

Update: thanks for the feedback and information. I picked up a proper tread depth gauge and it looks like the wear isn’t near as bad as I thought. More of an illusion to my eyes and hands I guess. Outside is 8/32nds and inside is 7/32nds. All good and thanks again!

What was the specs when you took it in to be aligned? Once they wear that way the tire is pretty well fooked no matter what the new specs are.

What are you using to estimate this 30-40% of tread? Can you see that the shape of the tread if off or are you only using measured tread depth? If the latter, keep in mind that the tread depth of your tires is not necessarily uniform across the entire width of the tread surface. IIRC, the inside edge has a shallower tread depth than the rest of the tire.

Also seems odd to have tires wear that severely in under 1000 miles. Even with the factory alignment not being the greatest, I don't think a car with an alignment bad enough to cause that much wear could make it off the line without being corrected. But, as VinnAY mentioned, would also be good to know what the before measurements were for your alignment.

Thanks, that’s good to know. I will snap a pic of the “before” specs. I will pick up a proper tread depth gauge to get a more exact measurement as well.

Appreciate the feedback, guys!

Why more negative camber in the rear?

Better rear grip in the corners.

-1.5 in the rear is the track setting on the SS 1LE and ZL1

No kidding, just don’t see the point of it without the front camber track spec.

My guess would be the tech somehow looked at the track specs when aligning the rear? Or maybe for drag racing even? Whatever the reason may be it's actually not terribly far off the factory alignment spec limit of -1.4 degrees (factory spec is -1.25 ± 0.15 degrees) so it's not like it's completely detrimental to the car setup, but it is a little odd to see.
