A good body or PDR (paintless dent removal - yes, the good ones do spot repainting) shop will be able to make that damage disappear. My wife's new car got caught in a popup hail storm when it was 2 weeks old. The PDR shop made every one of the 32 dents disappear, and 3 years later there's still no evidence of them. Since wraps are so thin (especially the OEM one on the 1LE), any defect (even dust particles) will be magnified - so that's not a solution.

A PDR guy can get it smooth and probably recommend someone to fill the chip smooth. Then you can have it wrapped.
Me? The hoods always gonna be a problem so I would PDR it and then DR ColorChip it. Paint usually a perfect match and NOONE will notice but you. Hood will take a beating so after i would PPF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd give a +1 to having a good PDR guy have a look at it. A good guy can get you to 99 percent if not 100 percent. Street cars get little "medals" all the time from debris or careless parkers. I always get the first few fixed, and then end up letting the rest be part of the car's character, especially if there were hectic track days in there.
I keep cars nice enough for me, but it's not my job to keep the car nice for the next owner. By the time I sell something, it is well used. |
