What about a 1LE hood wrap?

Think that indent would be noticeable?

Any amount of detailing is not going to fix that. The hood needs to be resprayed for the best result.

Fun fact for you-dump trucks are only responsible for debris that falls directly from their load (or truck) onto said vehicles. If the debris bounces off the road and hits your vehicle, there is no said liability. Wisconsin law.

If it were me, I would try to touch it up myself the best that I could. If that is not somewhat acceptable, looks like it is going to a body shop.

This thread disappoints. Car is not totaled.

It would be very noticeable with a wrap. Everything shows up under those mofos. Touch up paint would be better than that.

I would try buffing it a bit, and get some good touch up paint. Be sure to use the fine point applicator vs a brush. You’ll have much better control and should have a better result.

I feel for you on the scratch, I would be pissed with a capital p!

Know the feeling, consider PPF in your future. Did mine immediately after delivery.

your only option is to respray and going to your insurance company is going to cost you a major increase next time renewal time comes.

My local guy dis a wet sand on the hood of my wife AMG (BTE it went through the paint protection) and the sprayed and buffed the hood. He did not have to do the whole hood and you can tell.

I live in South FLA and it terrible to drive on the roads between the road gators, rocks and other assorted junk it is a n obstacle course...

good luck

shit happens man, i've been there for sure! drives you crazy!
dr color chip is my go to, it wont be perfect but my experience is it tends to offer the best results.

i try and avoid body shops at all cost, overspray, blending ... they tend to make other things worse in my experience. when you need them you need them ... you dont yet.

You are going to be spending an awful lot of cash if you are going to take your car into a body shop every time you get a chip in the paint. Take it to a detailer if you don't have the stuff yourself, let them buff out what they can and touch up paint on the rest. I have PPT on the front of mine and even that has a couple rock chips right through the PPF. $hit happens, the first one bugs you the most... LOL

A good touch-up guy can fix that, and you wouldn't even notice. A respray wouldn't be too expensive. Two years ago, I had my benz done. It was about 800 bux, and it looks perfect.

I’ll give you $1500 for it. It’s only worth $900 anyway in that condition so you’re getting a deal from me.

Touch it up yourself with a paint pen and move on. The first one is always the most painful, consider your cherry popped. They are special cars so look into partial PPF at minimum. Now don’t be hitting anymore stones!! Honestly, I know exactly how you feel right now, it’s near heartbreaking.

You don’t haven metallic in that paint. Easy repair. Touch up paint and multistage wet sand. super glue the sand paper to the eraser of a new pencil. I’ve done it on a white car and people couldn’t believe the panel wasn’t repainted
