Southeast, on the other side of the alligator alley.

If I still had my ZL1 I would sell it in a heartbeat. But my LT1 is my keeper. Built exactly for me. Priceless.

Very true.

Personally, I love the look of the 1LE cars, more so than the ZL1.

WHY? The Zl1 is an overall better car than the Lt1.

Must be a preference thing on the specific model, but I’ll give you this... My ZL1 was built exactly for me.

Priceless? No, but she’s a keeper nonetheless!

Cheers to getting exactly what you wanted

I had the the SS and it was a blast, but Kurt knowing I could have much mor power I stepped up to a ZL1 rag top and it’s much more thrilling

Bias here, but yes. SSLE looks in incredible. Like the ZLE also but the rear wing is gynormous.

Agreed!

My 2016 m6 SS was near 500 RWHP NA and that could be a sweet spot. My 2018 ZL1 was too much too fast on the street but it was fun at Atco. So you end up driving around @ 5-6 tenths most of the time. My 700+ RWHP Twin Turbo 2013 1LE was too much for the street and too much on a race track as my friend put it shiny side down at Millville. He was fine mostly and lucky.

I much preferred that 5th gen 1LE as a low 12 second bolt on car.
The turbos ruined a very well balanced performance car.

As for me now my mosty stock M6 LT1is a 12.1 @116 at Atco. so 400+ RWHP is plenty fast enough to be fun on the street and the track. And after modding cars so much I can appreciate the LT1 as it came from the factory. And I really dig the Road Runner vibe LT1 stealth and that I can let it loose once in a while with the car.

One possible exception to your 500 HP rule was my M6 5th gen ZL1. That Camaro stock was about exactly as fast as the bolton 2013 1LE. But the ZL1 really sucked the gas and was not as much fun to drive as that 5th gen 1LE. The ZL1 was really heavy, over 4,000 pounds.

I know there's a big price difference and on paper horsepower difference, but is the there a huge difference in real life or just different animals not worth comparing. The cars are going to be tracked or anything like that, just spirited driving and back roads. Both would be 2021s.
Both cars are identical in nearly every way, except the $20,000+ and 195hp difference.

Advice, Cheaper to get the SS 1LE then trick it out to the same or more hp as the ZL1 than it is to buy that ZL1 new.

Up to you to make the decision beyond that.

I am doing the latter with my 2SS. I bought mine used for $34000 + $10,000 or so in mods puts me on par or surpasses the ZL1. The only difference I don't have the 1LE. I wish I did, but its not worth $7000 to me. The suspension system so I read is identical to the Corvettes that do not have MRS.

Go 1LE and if you decide you want more power build a 427 or larger motor for it. That's my current plan anyway.

Well, is it really, the SS 1LE has slightly smaller brakes, because it's lighter, it's also my understanding that some of the drive-line components are not the same as the ZL1, because it doesn't need to handle as much power/torque. So while most of it is the same, the SS 1LE is set up for the power it has, bolting on a blower will require a bit more to really make it the same as a ZL1 and so that it will hold up the same as a ZL1.
