1st, the early wire issues were handled from the factory, no surprise there.
2nd, I now have 6 track days running without the OBD-II gauge and no issues. I did not plug in the gauge for the last day......kinda forgot and when I remembered the car was running. I wanted to plug it in when the car was not "active". Basically open the door and let things time out so I plugged it in without power on the buss. So, I plugged it in at the end of Sunday and have driven several hundred miles with the gauge plugged in. Besides the O2 and oil temp sensor changes, the gauge had a firmware update installed, now 1.20.1 (the latest). The release notes do not mention anything related to buss communication errors, just 'bug fixes'. Hopefully things are copacetic  For the moment, I'm going with the gauge was causing the issue and now is resolved.
