Warranty = dealer.
Out of warranty = reputable local shop? Mostly, I DIY, but apartments, etc.

Trust no one. Every time someone touches your car they **** something up. No one will take better care of your car than you. But, if you want someone else to do it, it’s a dice roll. Good luck.

I take mine to the dealer for a few reasons. I don't find the hassle of changing the oil myself worth the cost difference. I want records of me spending money at the dealership for service should I need something warrantied. If I screw something up, I'm buying the engine, if they screw something up, they buy the engine. The dealer is best equipped to fix something should they screw it up, compared to most independent shops.

I don't trust anyone to do any work on any of my cars.
I do everything myself except tire installs. That being said, try to find a reputable place. Word of mouth is probably best. Can't really trust online reviews; lots are fake or paid for. Then where ever you go, ask to watch while the work is performed and watch them like a hawk. If they do the job right, you have found a good place. |
