Making the ride more daily/road trip friendly?

So next month will be 3 years and I'm at a crossroads with the car. I did a 4 hour round trip yesterday and it got on my last nerve. I knew it going in 3 years ago, but as I get older, it seems to feel worse or it's just the car after 40,000 miles. I seem to remember it being "better" on my last set of Bridgestone S007's, but this set has sucked from day 1. Is there a tire and/or aftermarket spring combo that might help? My experience with aftermarket springs is they are stiffer to make up for the loss of suspension travel. I really liked my 2017 Camaro SS non-1LE car. It handled great on the street and still absolutely was a blast on track.
Thanks for any input, getting older sucks BTW. I'm 51 and have been driving sporty/modified type cars forever. That probably hasn't helped my back.

I have two ideas, one is a fresh set of non-runflat Michelin PS4S tires that will ride very well, the other is an aftermarket power lumbar setup that someone already did on his Camaro and posted here about. There is a bladder type solution on amazon for approx. $150 per seat that includes a harness and switch, too.

The seats are fantastic for me, it’s the impact harshness that gets me. What about Michelin Pilot Super Sports?

Wait...the S007 comes in both run-flat and non-run-flat versions. Which one do you have, Redlinez?

My guess would be that your problem is the 20" wheels on the 1LE. I only use the 20" wheels when I take it to the track. For DD I use 19" wheels with Conti ECS (Apex 10" square setup with 285/35), and I can definitely tell the difference with the extra sidewall height. We live very close to one another, so drive on similar roads. With the DD setup, I only really feel the jarring effect when going over train tracks.

I'm sure tire sidewall stiffness between tire brands/models will make a little difference on the 20" wheels, but at the end of the day, there isn't much sidewall height to work with, so they will all transmit pothole and road seam irregularities. Going with a smaller wheel / higher sidewall tire will likely pay much bigger dividends, albeit at a higher total cost. But Apex wheels are pretty affordable.

I can say my non 1LE SS rode quite a bit better while on 20's, but they had more sidewall and the non-magne ride shocks. I will probably try Michelin Super Sports and if I can't deal with it, I'll let someone else enjoy the car. If I didn't already have my motorcycle toy, I'd probably ante up and buy a different set of wheels and tires.
Thanks for the advice.

I've never driven on PSSs, but they are a more sharply-focused tire and I doubt they ride as nicely as the PS4S. I think the PS4S would be the better option for you if ride quality is that important. Even better might be the PS All Season 4, and probably even better still would be the Continental ExtremeContact DWS.

19 or 18's if you can fit them and Ps4S.. sporty but rides SOOO much better.

I look forward to the day i take off the snow tires - they are loud and rides hard like a truck, I imagine 20's and tires you have may be contributing factor.

With magride, I woudl assume that you have it in comfort mode?

Oh yes, tour mode often. The 30 minute drives locally don't bother me nearly as much. It's the 2 plus hour drives that get me. OMG, those PS4S's have gone up so much (like everything I guess), but I did love them on my last SS. I will look into the Contis.

I would say a set of 18 or 19 inch wheels with a set of Continental DWS 06+'s would give you a much more comfortable ride.

19 or 18" wheel with more tire sidewall.... If you have Mag ride maybe a DSC controller to soften up the suspension even more?
