I am in a similar boat here. Live in MA and the Camaro is just a weekend car. I don't store it for winter so I will usually take it out once a week to keep it charged, lubed, and prevent flat spots. I was looking into keeping the 1LE factory wheels and tires for track only and getting a new street setup.

Was thinking 19x10 and 19x11 to get a little more sidewall for bumps, but what tires can I get that is high performance, but also able to withstand cold temps and is ok in warm temp rain? I wouldn't drive it in snow or anything terrible. Just need a wheel that can withstand below 40 degrees. Having a tough time finding something in 19's that is staggered and still very good performance for warmer temps.

The SC3s are rough below 30. I felt like driving the 1LE to work last week and didn’t realize it was 20 outside. Backend broke loose in 3rd gear at 3000 RPM. Pucker moment when not expecting it.

It's not the rpm but the torque demand one has to be careful about in cold weather. My PS4S tires can also kick out if I'm too liberal with the pedal.

With my dad's ZL1 we went with a set of Apex ARC-8 19x10" wheels for a square setup, with BFG Comp 2 A/S tires (285/35R19). Conti DWS 06 also come in that size, and either option makes for great street tries when it's really cold out. Was driving it when it was in the low 20s a few weeks back and it was fine unlike with the SC3s. You can do a 19x11" in the rear too with a 305/35R19, but tires are harder to find in that size plus going square allows you to rotate them and last longer for street use.

The P4 A/S are great! Overall quieter ride so I can hear that 6.2L sing, not as rough, but still hugged the road really well.

Glad I was able to drive it to home for Christmas and back this weekend. Even stopped by Talladega on the way back for a good photo opp.

Thanks for some of the info. I haven't been able to find any suitable tires for the cold weather, that are also good in summer, in 305/30/19 or 305/35/19. Am I missing some or should I stick with 20's? I was sold on Conti DWS06 Plus until I found they don't do 305s in 19inch.

You are asking to have your cake and eat it too. Unfortunately, rubber technology currently doesn't provide a compound that is pliable enough near/below freezing, yet performs well and has acceptable durability under summer conditions.

For what it's worth, the Conti Extreme Contact Sport is a summer tire that appears to tolerate cold temps better than the PS4. But I don't think either would be safe to drive in snow or wet conditions <32. I have the Conti ECS in 19 (285/35 square setup) for my daily driving wheels and they work great in both summer and temps around 32 in winter, but I won't drive them colder or in any precip at or below 35.

I use the Conti's, but as you said, in 20 inch.

I'm running the Conti's and they do ok in colder weather, but like posted I don't run them in under 30℉ temps.
They start to lose grip in the low 50's but only if pushed.

Been running the Conti ECS. Its been cold. I drive really easy until the tires get at least some temp in them. You can feel them liven up when they are up to a marginal temp. Usually a few miles and they smooth out. Would definitely not recommend them for wet/freezing conditions and certainly not ever in any amount of snow. You won't get much performance out of anything at frigid temps. The ECS has been a great "compromise tire" for street duty. Won't be long before the car is put away for a few months, the Contis have worked out pretty good this year.

I run the PS4s on my daily driver Model 3 performance and they handle the cold MUCH better than the SC3s on the Camaro but AWD may make the most difference and I’m taking it easy on either tire when it’s cold.
