Brake pad size problem
I got a set of front Hawk DTC 70 pads, and three of them slide right into the caliper, but a fourth one will not go in. I can put any of the other three pads in, but this fourth one just seems to be too wide. When holding the pad back to back with the others, the size difference is almost imperceptible. Actually visually I can't tell but holding my fingers against it I can.
Got a track event this Friday....I can call the place I got them from and ask for a replacement I'm sure, but doubt they will get here in time for Friday. Should I file the edges? |

If the pad looks the same otherwise, I would grind it down to fit.

Is the piston on that side fully retracted?

He said it was too wide and that the other 3 pads fit. The piston locations have nothing to do with that.

I would skip the file, that will take forever. Decent angle grinder is like $17 at harbor freight if you need one. |
