I don't think there is anything in the 2SS that is worth the extra money. The rear view mirror is cool, but it's all not necessary and I could never justify the price. Seem silly.

I could see it being useful for people in cold weather though, so in that scenario it makes sense.

Ok, I bought a 1SS about a year or so ago and I should have sprung for the 1LE. Everything I did was to make it more like the 1LE, not sure if you considered that route but it has the Recaro seats, MRC which is awesome, better wheels, styling is awesome, bigger brakes and I think thats a route to consider.

So I will preface this with that I daily drive a loaded Ram 1500 Laramie and I just bought my wife a new Escalade sport. I absolutely love my 1SS 1LE, it is a no option car besides the 1LE package. Now ironically I do have a ZL1 on order, but the 1LE was an order that the customer backed out on, and since it was a 22 built before even the $200 destination increase, it was about $1,900 cheaper than a 23. If I was to order a 1LE I would also have a hard time deciding, but you can't go wrong either way. If you want some more safety, a slighter nicer interior (leather trimmed pieces on the door panel, and knee pads), then go 2SS.

i bought a 1ss. i bought the car to have fun, none of the 2ss options would make it any better in that regard. i did replace the terrible $0.03 plastic knee pads with a factory alcantara set.

Classicrockr, as several have said it basically boils down to what you think is important in terms of content and what you can afford. Personally I chose to spend my money on the 1LE package rather than going the 2SS route. Of course you can have both a 2SS and the 1LE package if you are willing to spend the extra 5k. Only you can determine what works best for you.

I was content with a 1SS but when I got with my dealer and checked to upgrade it to the 1LE package it was too late. Looked online later that night and found my 2SS 1LE. So I took that and made me a poor mans ZL1.

For me, I wanted the interior options that dress things up vs the 1SS. I like the silly spectrum lighting, and the lighted sills, upgraded door trim, etc. I also like the safety features that were included. I too use the ventilated seats more than I thought I would. The rear view mirror is cool. I do plan on doing a track day or two to embarrass myself, but this is mostly just for me to enjoy on the street. It is my forever car, so I built it how I want it. No regrets.

I came from a 2018 2LT 1LE with the comfort and convenience (basically the same interior features as a 2SS) and there was no way my V8 SS was going to be inferior in any way to my previous car. 2SS 1LE was a no-brainer but much harder to find at a decent price. There is nothing earth shattering, but incremental improvements to driving ease with the sensors, incremental sound quality improvements, incremental comfort improvements, incremental aesthetic improvements with the lighting all add up to a better place to be.

Even if y'all are buying only for the track, those cold early morning sessions with windows down and seat heaters and a heated steering wheel just hit different.

thats something i never understood about the 1LE. it only comes with tires not to be used under 40* yet is offered with heated seats & steering wheels. almost like gm had to add something for the geriatric customer base.

The only possible thing I wouldn’t mind having on my 1LE is the memory seat. Strange that’s not standard on 1SS models.

The only vehicle in my fleet that has a heated steering wheel, and it never sees below 50*. The irony is not lost! The heated seats get occasional action to warm my near-geriatric back.

That gives soft California folk like me a solid 30* range to use em! And I'm still far from geriatric thankyouverymuch.

Love memory seats and miss them in the wife's car. She doesn't drive the Camaro so I get a setting for daily driving, a setting for track that gives me extra helmet clearance, and the wonderful exit position.
