Exactly what I'm talking about. The A8 4th-5th rpm drop is a killer.

So, we worked on my C7 raising the RPM and shift points to make sure it stayed in 4th gear all the way thru the traps and it picked up a 1/2 tenth and over 2 mph. It took a 4 or 5 passes down the track to figure it out but phil@phdtuning worked really hard extending out the shifts to make it happen. That drop off as you said kills it up top. I wish we'd could have done that on the red car but since we didn't mess with the trans we just didn't get there. Now with this car its staying in 6th but keeping the rpms up and not dropping ET or mph. On the 9.86@142 I was trapping at 6100 rpms so just 250 to 300rpms below where it would shift into 7th gear.
