I had an order online cancelled for some reason, and then another shipped, so I don't know what is going on with this thing.

I also was able to use the deal in-store locally. I did the order online, store pick-up, no issues.

I wasn't brave enough to return the paper towels and oil filter while I was standing right there after picking it up haha.

Received my order today, and I was just curious if the oil formula had changed at all? When I got it a few weeks ago for my 500 mile oil change (from O'Reilly's), it came in as ESP 0w-40, but with the orange Supercar label.

The oil I received today was labeled as ESP 0w-40 European formula, with the green label.

Are these the same thing, or has something changed?

Seems like just branding to me, all that matters is that it's 0w-40 and that it's dexos 2 approved.

Most recent version has the Supercar labeling. I don't really think there was any change.

Thanks for the confirmation.

What's weird is, if the Supercar labeling is the most recent, that one only has the standard Dexos labeling, while the green labeled one I got today has the Dexos 2 branding...

As long as they're the same thing, that is all I was worried about.

Here's the real deal: I returned both oil filters and got the 10 quarts of oil and 2 rolls of shop towels for $64.60 with tax in North Carolina. I'm gonna do that again I do believe. I picked them up at two different Autozones within 10 minutes of me. There are two more within 10 minutes in case they don't have enough on hand.

I just bought 10 more quarts at the one Autozone near my work that even showed any of the deal left.

European is a different blend from everything I've read on this site.

It should be ESP, ESPx3, or now Supercar I've seen it labeled.

Can you post a pic of your bottle?

I learned that my one canceled order was because Autozone Online thought it was a duplicate order.

Successfully used it in two stores. Need to do it some more though.

Any hassles about returning the filters?

These are the two oils I have:

The one on the left is what I got from O'Reilly's a couple of weeks ago for my 500 mile oil change that I just did last weekend. The one on the right is the ones I just got this week from Auto Zone.

In reading some of the threads you linked to, it seems like the ones from Auto Zone are the correct formula, so I don't think there's any issue. I don't know which one is newer, but I think it's just a branding thing, and they should both be the same oil.

My nearest Auto Zone is about 35-40 minutes away, but I'm heading there this morning to see if I can return the filters. It's a fun drive on nice twisty back roads anyway, so it will be a good drive if nothing else. If they have the deal available in store, I may pick up some more of the oil as well, as it's a steal at the price they're offering.

[Edit] - just got back from the store, and had no trouble returning the filters. What was interesting was, because none of the emails from the online order had a bar code they could scan, they had to put it in as "no receipt" and thus I got the full amount back for the filters, not the discounted amount! And the store did have the right oil in stock, but only 8 quarts, so I could only get 5 (and the towels and filter) to get the deal, and then I turned right around and returned back the filter again. But this time, since the paper receipt had the bar code at the bottom, I only got the discounted price back. The lady I dealt with was really great, and had no problem doing all this, and the both transactions went off without a hitch.

By the way, both times they issued the return, I got it back as store credit so keep that in mind.

Great to know!
I wanted to return the filters right away but felt awkward doing so, but maybe I will try it.

When I called AutoZone "Online" about one of my orders where they shipped the towels/filter, but cancelled the oil part of the transaction, I told them I wanted the whole transaction canceled since I didn't need the towels/filter. They gave me a transaction number over the phone to bring with me to the store that would allow them to look up the online transaction.

From what I can tell reading, the Supercar is the rebranded ESP / ESPx3. But that is not the European formula -- that is something different.

They did have a standard European formula oil of Mobil 1 at the Auto Zone I went to, but it was just with the rest of the Mobil 1 oil and came with a gray label. It is also not labeled for Dexos.

The ESP ones I picked up (green label) were on a separate rack, promoting it's superior/track focused capabilities. It was the same as the one I got from the online order.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm also not sure why the older labeled oil has the Dexos 2 branding, while the newer label (Supercar) has just the standard Dexos branding?
