At least I've always gotten the lowest mortgage rate possible with my credit history I showed the guy advertised %2.89 on chevys web site, he clicked on the offer and picked very similar car in my region and rate changed to similar %5.8 |

Always get outside financing. Credit Unions usually have the best rates. Then see if the dealer can find better rates. A few months ago my wife bought a new 22 Blazer. CU rates were 3.25%. Dealer got 3.15% through GM Financial. Does not seem like a big difference and I am not a fan of GM Financial, but there was a non advertised $1000 rebate if you went through GM Financial.

I am a 797 fico. Got my ZL1 new. I had the option to take 1.9% for 60 or 3.49% for 72. Took the 72, rolled $20k equity from my last car into this. Financed through GM financial.
Mine will be paid off a few years early. I make double payments here and there. |

Checked with my credit union, 2.49% appears to be a great rate for these times.

"Rates", the word on its own can be misleading, because they can be calculated & explained in different ways & may, or may not, include or exclude, additional "charges".
So, the best way to compare any deals you may be offered is to compare the "T.A.P.", the Total Amount Payable (of your finance agreement), including all charges, over the term of the contract. Also check any penalties you may incur for early completion. |

Like said above. The rate does not really matter. They can make it what they want. Amount paid at the end of all the payments is what matters. Those super low interest finance plans cost money to do, they will hide the costs and fees in the pricing. There is also no such thing as zero percent financing. You will pay it somewhere. It is actually level monthly payments and a finance guy can do a 20% interest loan on level payments make people feel good thinking it is zero percent. A lot of times not buying on the Gm programs and going through your bank is cheaper.

Best the dealer could do with a 750 score was 4.9% for 72. He said to expect rates to hit 8% or more by the end of the year.

3.49% with GM Financial if you take delivery in October. MY ETA is 10/27, hopefully that holds & I can take advantage of that.

Crazy how much rates changed since my build started back in June.
Theyve gone from 1.99% and with my vehicle finally arriving in a few weeks looks like my rate will be around 5%-6%. Turned my $750 monthly payment to about $960. Feels wonderful |
