Yep. I have no issues with my 19+ tail lights, I do prefer the 2017-2018 rear bumper though, but not enough to buy a 2017-2018 model.

Only old people like you like those outdated taillights.

Oy vey, look at the budding swimming goggle enthusiast (but not his butt ugly taillights) Go get some education in visual design, brother, and then come back to tell me off, heh.
Now let me crawl back to my rocking chair to flip through my good ole' black & white photos again... and again...

Level of ease may vary, but it is doable for those who prefer the '16-18 look. See below for a WIP photo of my 2021.

Gen5DIY provided the wiring harness for the swap. Things get a little more complicated with this project if you are doing the swap on a car equipped with the backup sensors, as there was a change to the sensors (and mounts?) for the '19+ cars...

Just curious why you did this project? Was it hit or just liked the older design. I like the 2018 design better too but not sure I would go through that unless it was hit.

IDK. I prefered "good ol'" design for a while, but new taillights grew up on me and now I look at the older ones and I see Chineesse red eyes.

Sorry in advance if somebody loves them and now can't unsee this...

I suppose they look like Malibu lights if you have your beer goggles on. For everyone else that's sober, there's no comparison.

And there's a 3rd Gen owner out there saying they don't like the 4th Gen, and a 4th Gen owner saying they don't like the 5th Gen, and so on and so on. Some people are just slow to resist change and prefer old and familiar.

There is truth to what you're saying about familiarity, but it isn't the whole truth. If something gets messed up, calling it new doesn't necessarily translate to an improvement, and calling its critics "people unable to adapt" is disingenuous. I'm sure anyone can think of examples, no need for me to bring up random ones from any other area in life.

In 1990 I bought a 1970 Chevelle SS and would have not settled for a 1971, basically the same car with the exception of the changed taillights and the headlights. Some people just like different thing I guess.

And sometimes it just takes time before acceptance sets in. Case in point, I thought the C7 Corvette was awful when it was released, nowadays I like them. I could really care less if anyone like the 2019+ tail lights, I like them and so does many others. I have nothing against the 2017-2018 tail lights other than they look like C7 knock offs and as someone stated, they have a Japanese/Chinese look to them. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. I do prefer the 2017-2018 rear bumper though.

It all good, you like what you like, as do others. If we were all the same, the world would be a boring place.
