Question???? So for everyone that's against getting a Ceramic Coating. What methods did you try to remove them? Vinegar/water mixture, chemicals? other methods??

a proper coating will need to be polished off. They are chemical resistant and most are in a PH of 2-13 resistant so they are not coming off with a chemical unless its already dying and at its end of life.

Jumping into the thread a bit late, but about to take delivery of a '23 LT1 Vert. It will driven down California (about 300 miles) and I want to prep and coat properly. I did ceramic on my last few cars (Camaro and Tesla) and will probably be doing 3 or 4 cars in the next week or two.
I used Black Forest or Pinnacle(?) last time, and still quite a bit of polish left. I'd like to get each car really dialed in, and do 2 full coats of ceramic.

Is CQUK 3.0 still the current bomb for ceramic sealant? I will probably need more than 50 ml, so I want to buy enough product and applicators ahead of time, so I am not stuck needing something.

Opinions, suggestions, deals, and coupons always welcome.

Cheers.

there are so many coatings now that are great. I never was impressed with Cquartz 3.0 when I used it
Coatings I have put on my cars and liked
Diamond Protech Body
Gtechniq CSL
Gyeon MOHS
Optimum Gloss Coat

Theragcompany right now carries Diamond protech, Optimum and Gtechniq and they have a 20% off sale now for the TRCMA event

I just put AvalonKing Armor Shield IX on mine a week ago. It's very easy to put on, one of the easiest out there. Some have questioned the longevity, we'll see. I drove in the rain today (forecast turned out to be wrong), and while there was good beading & sheeting, I've seen better. I've seen lots of good reviews on Cquartz 3.0, I may try that on another vehicle. I've seen professional detailers I'm acquainted with, recommend Blue Collar 1 Ceramic Coating from Apex Surface Protection; UndrDog Pro; and Aqualux Aquabead Ceramic Coating.

Here are five pics - three while the car was wet at work, and two after I drove home. Car was nearly dry when I got home.

Thanks guys. Crazy how many products are out there that call themselves by different names and use different metrics to boast their efficacy.

Is Graphene worth the extra bump in cost? I have used the Turtle Wax ceramic on top of my original Blackfire ceramic, and I have gotten about 3 years of coverage on my garaged car (very happy with results.)

Not from what I've heard & read, but others may have different experiences. I've heard & read that they are actually very similar overall.

After some quick inter-netting, I ordered the Adams Graphene kit from Amazon ($70.) Should make for an interesting Saturday.

I havnt seen any benefits of graphene over a regular ceramic

FYI about that Adams Graphene. I have used the Advanced graphene spray and did 2 cars with the Advanced graphene coating.
It has a HORRIBLE smell that is SOOO strong. If you have a sensitive nose like me you will need a respirator.
I cant use either of those products for 30sec before i get a headache

Thanks for the heads-up. I should be able to tolerate it; my wife has a crazy-sensitive-sniffer, but she doesn't help anyway

Graphene = marketing fad. I guess folks might find it worthwhile if they feel better about spending extra money on fad products. I don't but I guess some do. Graphene doesn't make the product better. The MFR's choice of actual base hydrophobic chemicals (polydimethylsiloxane, et al) will affect performance more than the presence of a few micrograms of graphene powder pixie dust. So some graphene products will suck, and others will be great.

If you want to see what's good and what's not good (objectively), check out Scott HD's youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ScottHD He's been doing outdoor "real world" testing on many, many products for several years.

Well, took delivery of my brand new LT1 today, and there are tons of swirls in the paint. I have some BlackForest polish (about 4 yrs old) that I plan to use after a wash with Dawn and a clay mit.
After the wash-clay, and dry, I'll polish, then wash, then ceramic? I have watched too many detailing videos lately, and there are so many additional products and steps, I hope I'm not skipping something important. Any other suggested steps before applying the ceramic, one panel at a time?
