MJK vs MH3 Manual trans

The production numbers thread has a breakdown that shows the zl1 and ZLE have a different transmission code for the 6spd. I am wondering if anyone knows what the difference is between the two trans?

The internal gear ratios are different.

Only 6th gear is different, if you search they have them posted. But its around a 1000rpm difference in 6th gear, with the ZLE having the shorter gear.

If you've driven a ZLE, the 6th gear definitely just feels like a natural extension of the progression of gears, rather than a massive overdrive gear. I prefer it greatly to the standard ZL1 ratio, although it's probably terrible for gas mileage (and if you care about gas mileage you're on the wrong forum in the first place).

Hi all,
In my opinion, the ZLE 6060 is the very best close ratio manual that's out there. Handles a lot of power, spot on ratios, a great factory shifter. It reminds me of a 60's era M21 or M22, but with two extra closely spaced gears. It's part of the reason l so love my ZLE.

Although l'm all stock, many folks who have up-powered their ZLE's have had no issues with their 6060s handling the extra power. A really great trans IMO....

The trans is one of the reasons I ended up choosing the ZLE over the ZL1. Gears are very well spaced and 6th is usable on a long track/race. Really nice piece and impressive in its power handling capability

I ordered my ZLE and the code for the transmission on my car is MN6.
I posted this on FB. Not sure what to think regarding the other 2 codes listed for 6 speed manuals.

Another example. Look at the listing for the track package. It specifically says MN6. Not sure if this is a Canadian build code???? Seems weird if it was.

MN6 is the generic 6speed manual RPO. Shows up even on non V8 models from what I've seen.

Ok thanks. I was unaware this MN6 code was just a generic 6speed code.
