What is the name of this car piece?

I tried posting this in my other thread so I didn’t have to start a whole other one, but in the pic I put with this there is a little bottle thing behind the engine where I circled, and it has a cap on it. Does your guys cap tighten or does it spin pretty freely? And what the heck is that even for?

I’m going to guess it’s a vent or breather for the transmission.

Mine is under the car cover until at least Tuesday, however when I pull the cover off I'll check for you and try to figure out what it is...
