Never heard about an A10 shudder. I've had mine about 17 months and it's been amazing.

Just get a 2SS-1LE. Best car for the money. A10 rocks.

I LOVE my 2020 2SS with A10....
With the budget numbers and plans you are talking about, I would buy a 2021 1SS 1LE with the A10 and go from there...

I put about 7000 miles on my 19 ss with the a10 this year. It has been fine and shifts like should. Also stay away from the lt 1. I see no value in those. You get a lot more features with the ss for a few dollars more.

If you want to ride the track, go with a SS. If you want the best handling, no frills, go 1SS 1LE

I won't ever track it. I only drive 4 miles to work in 30 and 45mph zones. Once my Vette club stopped all cruises thanks to CV19 my Vette never had a chance to get any work outs on the open roads. After i had to lemon law the C7 i got a Spark on a lark since i was not driving much anyways. The price of a used LT1 seems to be very good as i have seen sub 30k.
I will keep the boring spark for a few months and jump on whatever i like if the price is right. Going from Vettes to a spark does something to the mind. |

Probably a pointless post due to it being an A8. But I have never had a problem with it (I also immediately got a flush and tune). Anyway, this is what I did, for what it's worth. I liked the look of the ZL1, but that alone didn't justify the price for me. So, I got a 2016 SS with 2k miles on it, put on some ZL1 styling (not the pointy bird beak American Authority front bumper or any ZL1 badges) a Hellion TT, cam, upgraded fuel system, etc., and I now have about 1200RWHP, twice the HP of a Z, everything all for around $35k. 10-15,000 less than a ZL1 with ~570RWHP and I couldn't be happier.

Camaro LT1, SS, 1LE, etc. seem to be hard to find right now and very expensive. New and used. Mustangs seem to be more abundant. I'm thinking of upgrading to an SS as well, or a Corvette. I'm surprised but not surprised you did not like the C7. It had the A8 though. Whatever I get must be a manual. After my experience with my 2017 Camaro RS with the 8 speed auto and the shuddering, never an auto again in a sports car for me.
Just like the A8 is a beware on the Camaro- the Mustang GT is a beware on the transmission (manual) and the engines can have a tick, rattle, pinging, etc. Oh buy do I know- been there, done that. The 10 speed auto is pretty good though. I still would take a Camaro over a Mustang- any day. As someone stated, you should try out a ZL1.

I bought a new 2020 1SS 1LE a few months ago. Paid a shade under $43k. Since then I’ve seen a few LT1’s at dealerships near me and they are asking what I paid for my 1LE or more. The more that hit dealerships the prices should drop a bit.

Took out for test drive last year and I almost bought a 2SS with the A10, but it sold when I went back a few days later. Had the A8 previously and the A10 is way way better. Having too much fun with the M6 so it'll be some time before I go back to an auto.

I got 2-3 quotes and the dealer I bought from matched the best price but gave me $2K more on trade-in. |

To the OP, is a manual transmission out of the question?
With a manual, you have no cylinder deactivation or transmission shudder. |

A10 doesn't have the shudder issue...
