Theoretically, yes.

Do they actually? I don't know

Do the seals stay in place under pressure? That I do not know either.

If it seals against the porous, flexible liner, you are wasting your time with a ram air setup.

I highly suggest you do not get one. I purchased one on sale and they have poor quality control and when I ordered mine I had to wait a long time due to them only running production every few weeks (with limited colors not their whole pallet).

I have not noticed any difference in performance. The only reason would be some sort of coolness factor. You have to remove the front bumper to install this so it isn't a 30 minute weekend job like a CAI is.

I can promise you the "ram air" effect works.

Price-wise, that is an awful expensive piece of plastic...
Can't say anything about quality because I haven't seen one in person.

I will make something or find one used first.

That's strange, when I ordered mine, he had to make it and I had it within a week in a half, maybe because it was just black, /shrug. Also, it took me about 45 minutes to install, and you don't have to remove the front bumper at all. It's literally only like 5 bolts and some plastic push rivets. If you want to test the seal on your rotofab for proof, just out some chalk or flour around the edges of of rubber gasket close your hood, them reopen it, easy peasy.

Hey Pupilbone, why don’t you order one when you order the Roto-Fab and install both to see if the scoop makes a big difference. Two members here say the scoop doesn’t take that long to install and you won’t have to take the front end apart to install. The instructions indicate the front end does need to be taken apart though.

It's definitely doable without removing the front end, I did it as well. Only the radiator center support needs to come out, and I also loosened the trunk latch to give my hands a little more room to work with.

Thx
I have one and been in touch with them. It is a bit of a PIA install. There is no "Ram Air" effect to me but rather better intake airflow to normalize and lower IATs (a good thing) This makes your other mods a little more effective and consistent. I doubt it makes more power on its own.

What I can say for sure the scoop does not filt the LT1 very well. I installed the scoop on mine. However it fits any SS perfectly.

I can say an M6 LT1 with just the crooked scoop, a Rotofab Dry, and tires my LT1 runs low 12.1s @116+. For sure it has 11s in it in good air.

If you have an LT1 and live near Clearwater FL I think they will give you a free one to make the scoop fit. I could probable make my scoop better with a little trimming but I would have to take the front bumper cover off. Even more of a PIA.

I'm not going to talk about performance improvements since I didn't do any testing, but it's really easy to install - just take off the radiator cover and loosen the hood latch on one side. 30 to 45 minutes at most - no need to remove the bumper!
