tires

I'm gonna need tires shortly and I'm considering going to PS4S's. I had them on my '17 SS 1LE and they were very good.

For the OEM sizes, the section width of the Michelins is exactly the same as the SC3's, but the tread with is a little less. Will one size wider tires, i.e. 295/30 front, 315/30 rear, fit with no issues?

Thanks.

Since each tire can have different widths even with the same size, they usually provide a guide for wheel width per tire size. I bet Michelin has something on their site, will see if I can find something.

Edit:
Michelin site says it fits the Camaro ZL1 wheel, and has a range of 10.5-11.5 inch wheels for their 315/30/20.

Do it!

There's not a thing to be gained or lost in the miniscule width difference between the two that you'd need to look at a 295 or 315. THe 315/30 should fit without a problem it's the 35 series sidewall where you can get in to a rub and or need a spacer; 305/35

Thanks guys. Yes, there isn't a big difference in tread width but it was noticeable on my SS 1LE when I switched from the SC3's.

These sizes will work. (I haven't personally checked 295/30 fronts on a ZL1, but don't recall any warning posts or issues from others either.)

You probably want to relocate the main body wiring harness on the driver side rear to be safe, here's how: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485975 (you'll probably find other, newer threads as well).

I would just go with the stock sizes front and rear and call it done! The wider the rubber the more money they cost.

I've ran SCY3, PS4 and currently on Hankook Evo2. This is the stickiness order best to worse. I daily my ZL1 and live in Louisiana so I frequently drive in the rain (maybe similar to FL?) and while the Hankook's are not the stickiest in this group, they do the best in the rain in my opinion. They also have higher treadwear and cheaper as a bonus.

On the PS4s, I ran 315s out back. Ever since they were mounted, I regretted going up a size. The sidewall budges just enough more that to me it looks funny compared to the 305 sidewall. Did or will anyone notice this? Not at all, but bugged me.

I had ps4s on my old ss, had around 490 whp, and I could not get traction in first, or second below 40. I just got a zl1 and bought brand new factory tires. I know they are only a little bit bigger than my last ones but man, they hold all the power so far, a little spinning from 1-2 on a no lift shift. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty impressed with the tires so far. Not the longest tread life and are a little noisy, but I don't mind giving that up for more grip. Tried a 40 roll yesterday in 1st and it dead hooked. Am I the only person that feels this way? I have yet to try 0-60 tomes with them yet tho

It's hard to beat the OEM tire for the street if you don't care about wet performance. I tried the P4S but definitely prefer the SC3's.

Yeah, the OEM Goodyear Supercar tires will provide more grip and better handling at the expense of poor wet performance, noise and tread life. They are a lot less expensive at about $1,200 for a set vs. $2k+ but they don't last long on a ZL1.

Where are you finding SC3 for $1,200 a set? Enlighten me.

the Hankook's really grew on me. After about 400 street miles they settle in and become more consistent. It's not a fast tire by any means but they work well and are more than enough for the majority of drivers. Plus they heat up quick and can be had for $1,000 a set on Amazon when they go on sale.

I just put them back on my rears so I could dyno my new build with them and not my Toyos, and I was immediately reminded that they offer very little traction on warm dry pavement, but still might be the best all-season tire, everything considered. If I lived in Florida, I would use more of a track tire.

I just paid $1398 for a set. I need to find the deals you're talking about!
