I would think the Velcro wrap would be better should you have to remove the starter for any reason. Seems like a permanent wrap might make the starter more difficult to handle. I could be wrong though.

I'm a coated header fan.
Mine has 115k on it and the uncoated headers have been on for 100k. Mine has been hard starting for about 20k miles when it's hot. I'll keep it till it dies I guess lol.

No they're not. So coated headers make that much of a difference in heat? I'll keep that in mind for the future.

It diameter is 24" so you should have plenty of coverage, probably even bit too much for the smaller LS starters. I'm sure you can use steel cable ties to secure it tight if the over lap passes the velcro

The starter in the pic appears to be a SBC starter that are bigger than LS starters ,but like I said steel ties will secure it no problem if you have to over lap the blanket

I got it it fits, lil long so cut it to fit and then if u want to tie it for better security than do so.
