Question CEL & Longtube Headers Question

I know check engine light comes on with longtube headers and highflow cats which is what I installed the other day (stainless powers). But usually people say it takes a little bit. I think mine came on right when I started it or shortly after. I did have to buy a rear O2 sensor for 1 cat. It was that Bosche smart link and you have to cut the connector off the original sensor. It seemed sketchy so maybe that one sensor isn't connected right?

Btw this is the video of how to connect old O2 to the new one:

It doesn't matter how it's connected or if it's not connected at all...the end result is the CEL...you wasted money buying a rear sensor that's obsolete with the headers....READ

You need to get a tune. When I installed my headers, I had previously done a dyno run (398hp/405tq) and when I finally went in to get the dyno tune done with the headers my baseline was way off. It showed 402hp/380tq and my fuel trims were way rich. Once everything was dialed in it was 425hp/411tq. Bottom line: Get the tune done.

I'm dealing with the delayed response code with my Kooks and green cats. I had to replace the bank 1 upstream O2 sensor. Trying to figure out how to get this to stop coming on until I get tuned. From what I understand that cide won't hurt the car

the rears get tuned out , when you get a tune . rear O2's don't even need to be pluged in after a tune. If you want to replace the rear o2's , use direct fit O2's.

OEM sensor for rear are about $35 on amazon. No worrying about cutting and connecting. I got my cel after about 400 miles, just cleared it with an elm27 and torque app. I still haven't gotten the car tuned and the cel hasn't come back on yet. Once it does, I'll just clear it again until I get the car tuned.

So I'm about to install long tube headers. I didn't know that I don't need to hook the rear ones up? Just put the extender wires for the 2 front ?

Yea the extensions are for the front sensors. Like mentioned above they rears will be turned off once you get a tune and the sensors will just serve as a plug.

Whats the code? Were all just assuming its a O2 code, but have you pulled the code to make sure?

Rear O2s need to be plugged into the car not the exhaust.
