I have a set and I have been debating on installing them myself or having a shop do it. i was told 4 hours for install time. Does this sound right? Also, is the install pretty straight forward or are there any things that should be pointed out? |

You can do the job yourself, if your handy with tools. You'll need to raise the car to get under it. Make sure your car is cold, the cats will hold heat for a very long time if you run your car first. I would suggest when putting them on, start all the bolts first, including the cats and exhaust before tightening them up. The hardest part is tightening the cats back up, because there is very little room to work. I didn't bother unhooking the battery, because I didn't want to go through resetting everything. After putting a heat cycle through them, re-tighten the bolts again. Also wipe the headers off with a clean rag before starting the car the first time. Make sure you bend or tie back any lines or wires away from headers so they don't melt. Four hours is about right taking your time and doing a good job ...
Good Luck ...

First of all do you have a good torque wrench? If not I know where you can get a good one for free.

i'm good with tools and have a couple torque wrenches, but with all the health snafu's i've been through the last 7 months i'm afraid if i got under the car...i'd never make it back out.
hell, 5 years ago i'd change out an engine by myself.

I wonder how much of that low end resonance comes from the CAI. I think that's the exact sound that I'm after in that video. |

That's pretty much all exhaust you hear. I have an Airaid on mine, and you don't hear it until I really kick it. Then the whole system comes alive and makes a lot of noise, from the back and front ...

those look great, I have been debating myself on these. I have an A6 and while I want more HP I would be content with a lot better pull/quickness.

You really start seeing nice gains with the addition of supporting items. Alone they aren't worth more than a handful of ponies, but when used in conjunction with other modifications that contribute to the overall efficiency of the entire "air pump" mentality, they are great. Really nice down low Torque gains! Ivan |
