Clutch/Tranny Rattle
Hello everyone. I am new to the site and look forward to the experience.
I just picked up my 2014 SS/RS 1LE yesterday, 10-08-13. What an awsome machine. Just sold my 67 Camaro to a collector who is going to turn it into a pro-touring ride to match his 69. I'm good with where it went...a good home. I notice a tranny or clutch linkage rattle sometimes when i take off or awkwardly shift to another gear. I know this was a commom noise on some of my older toys and I'm hoping things have not changed. Can anyone comment on this please. |

It is probably just the slack in the drive train you are hearing. There is no external shift linkage on modern transmissions.

Thats true, no linkage, i was thinking more along the lines of a z-bar/clutch linkage....if there is any. i have not been under a newer car in years and really need to learn how the hydraulic systems operate. Talked to an old friend who is was a gm engineer, he said the sounds are normal....even more so with a performance car such as the ss. Thanks for the reply.

I get a kind of buzzing sound when I depress the clutch, and it goes away as soon as I release it. Works great, just has this sound.

My '07 Sol GXP did it too. Normal.
No Z-bar misalignments (thank God)
