They only real issues I see could come in the way of your powertrain warranty should your engine suffer a major catastrophe and GM sees you have an aftermarket intake installed. They have been bastards when it comes to warranty and engine modifications. Former chief engineer for the Camaro line, Al Oppenheimer, once claimed that GM can tell if you've had an aftermarket intake installed. No way to know if that's true or not until you have a major engine failure that falls under warranty repair.
A GM tech told me as long as I used a dry filter noone would say a word.
I added a March Ram air kit to my 97 Cobra and the oil from the filter shorted out my MAF sensor.

Yup, improperly oiled filters can cause MAF issues. I had an Oiled RF on my 2013, never had issues even after cleaning and reoiling a few times.

I think dry filters have caught up some, I think I will go dry next time but will see when the time comes.

Hello! New here, first post, Have a 2022 ZL1 M6, took delivery Nov.6 2021, drove 2000 miles so far. Bought a K&N CAI and put it on twice and took it off twice. I don't get it, my impression is with it on, all I hear is that loud intake sucking now, even less supercharger whine. It seems the intake noise dominates the whine. I did it twice because I thought maybe I didn't try it long enough the first time. Am I doing something wrong?
