Quad tips question

Hi guys, new member, first post. I am buying a 2104 SS that has the single exhaust tips, want to convert them to quad tips. Looks like the rear diffuser would need to be changed? what else do I need?

I am not totally sure but I can tell you that I have a 2013 1LE and my guess is you would need a 1le style rear in order to accommodate the quad tips. I have the NPP

Tips

I purchased the ikon diffuser with quad tips. I wanted the tips attached to my flowmaster muffler but unfortunately the tips would have stuck out too far. I had to do a muffler delete. The ikon diffuser looks great but you have to do a lot of modifications.

I have seen both 2014-2015 cars with factory looking quad and single tips, so I am wondering why. Was it an option?

The regular ss had the single tip exhaust. The 1le and zl1 had the quad tip exhaust. All you need to fit a quad tip is swap your diffuser with a 1le diffuser. Im not 100% sure on the 14 and 15 models but the 1le diffuser should bolt right up to your bumper. After that you need to modify the exhaust for quad tips because the exhaust wont be centered to the diffuser opening. Or you could buy an exhaust that’s meant for the 1le or zl1 that will bolt right up as well

I did this to my 2014 a few weeks ago. I used valence part 2282947, the local dealer had the best price after including shipping from the online sources.

The circled part is attached to your existing valence with a screw and a rivet, that was the only piece I had to swap over to the new valence.

You need a new axle-back exhaust or just do a muffler delete (what I did). The pipes need to be moved a decent amount to center with the new diffuser, something that can’t be achieved with the bulky stock mufflers.

I just purchased the OEM Zl1 diffuser from a local dealer. They took my SS defuser as a "core" so it knocked off quite a bit from the price.

CarID had the best price by about $250 so I ordered from them, Magnaflow 15053. I was also considering Corsa, Billy Boat, and Hooker.

Lucky, my dealer charged $75 for the core and wouldn't accept the single tip exhaust valence since it's not the same part #. I care more about now having the giant box in my attic than the $75
