Active rev match whine noise

When I use the active rev match on my 2SS six speed and downshift, I often hear a brief "whine" noise for a couple seconds when shifting into the next lower gear. I am not aggressively shifting or placing undue stress on the transmission. I bought the car new in April and it only has 3,500 miles so I doubt there is a problem with the gears or tranny. The noise just seems out of place for a new car that hasn't been hot-rodded. Anyone else know of this problem?

Follow-up: I just took it for a drive and to be specific, the brief "whine" noise occurs when I move the shifter. So even shifting out of a gear and into neutral position and leave it there, and/or shift from one gear directly to the next lower gear. Again, it's only a brief noise of only a second and it only happens when using the ARV feature.
