Skip shift stopped working?

When I first test drove my Camaro at the dealership, I once got the 1st-4th skip shift and it worked just like advertised.

That was the only time I've ever seen it. I've done 5800 miles and haven't seen it since. I've really tried to provoke it, and I can comfortably shift from 1st to 4th with no issues.

Anyone else had this?

If you are shifting at a higher rpm you will not see the msg on your DIC.

It is odd. I've really tried to get it to do it, but with no luck. I mean, a lot of us would probably be glad not to get bothered by it. But I'm just curious if it has stopped working.

You'd 100% get a CEL if the solenoid stopped working.

That "feature" annoyed the hell out of me. I finally installed the CAGS skip shift eliminator last weekend and no more not being able to shift into second gear when it kicks in. A lot of people say that it activates if you're not above 2.5k rpm but I found it to be the complete opposite in my car. For me, it would kick in if I went over 2.5k rpm in first gear, so I've been shifting around 1.5-2k. If you're getting the message but still able to shift into second gear, I would go under the vehicle to see if the previous owner installed an eliminator (if you're not the original owner) because if one is installed, you will still get the 1-4 message and still be able to shift into second gear.

I notice the few times I see the message that it will show past the rpm/speed needed to make the shift any way like the message is a bit out of sync.
