Custom subs + front camera + audio overhaul

As I previously mentioned, decided to do an audio overhaul. System sounds better, cleaner, louder.

It's kind of hard to get good bass in a convertible. We added 2 x 6" JL Audio W3 subs in a fiberglass box in between the rear seats. This really brought back some needed punch and smoothed out the sub bass . These are running bandbass from 30 Hz to 150Hz.

Front Stage: 3 way active setup
HAT L1V2 1.1" tweeters (on axis)
HAT L2SE 2.7" full range drivers
HAT L6SE 7.1" midbass

REAR:
HAT 6.5" Imagine Coaxial full range drivers
JL AUdio W3 6.5" Subwoofers in custom fiberglass side panels
JL Audio W6 10" subwoofer in custom fiberglass box in trunk

Amplifiers:
Hertz ML Power 1 (10" sub)
Hertz ML Power 4 (front tweeter/midrange + rear full range)
Hertz ML Power 5 (2 channels bridged x front midbass, 5th channel to rear 6.5" subs)

MISC/Processors:
NavtTV GM650
Hertz H8 DSP/DTA
BatCap x 2
Ntv kit800 (HDMI input)
NTV kit780 (HDMI audio)
Roku Premiere
Front camera

thanks. Sounds better than it looks. All of the drivers and subs are overpowered, but controlled for via tuning. Dangerous if you don't tune properly as you could easily blow the driver, but if done correctly, allows for a much cleaner sound, with zero distortion at higher volumes.

So you didn't like the HAT amps eh? How was the Unity U2 when you had it? I want to run one in the factory dash location as tweeters are too bright there.

That sub install is perfect!
Considering how much of an audiophile you are I’m guessing that the quality must be good even with it sitting in that location?

The Unity amps are fine. I had the U4 and the U5. The U5 would shut down due to difficulty powering the JLW6. it just couldn't keep up with how uch bass I needed. I could have just added a separate U1 amp, but they are large amps, and space was a concern. I decided to put more power to each driver, and just overhaul the entire system. The hertz Mille Power amps are small but beefy amps, with a lot of balls.

Yes, top up sound is 100% perfect. Top down will never be perfect, but still an improvement over prior setup.

Thanks, how was the midrange from your U2 2.75”? Did it fit in the stock dash location?

The U2 is a perfect drop in replacement for the factory speakers, regarding size. May not match up perfectly with the OEM amp, but regarding size, zero modification to the factory area. They designed these for the new Dodge/Jeep/Chevy vehicles that have this weird 2.5" driver, compared to previous 3.5" drivers

Thanks, still making tweaks. Haven't had the day or so that it takes to really get it perfect... but it's much much better than before

Very nice!

So there wasn't enough space to make boxes behind the side panels right? You should sell those enclosures.. I would buy one if the price wasn't too crazy.

No, they would have stuck out too far into the seat area. I wish it had worked, as it would be good to see feel the bass stay inside the vehicle with the top down... but I'm happy with the outcome.
